Our client is a leading supplier of water control systems for commercial building applications, specializing in Pre-Engineered and Custom-Designed solutions for water pressure, level, temperature, flow, and quality.

 

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue and market share growth by establishing strong customer relationships and promoting our water control systems and custom-engineered solutions for commercial building applications.

 

Key Job Responsibilities:

       Customer Engagement & Sales:

o Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing customers in the commercial building market.

o Identify and develop new sales opportunities within assigned territories.

o Conduct face-to-face meetings, site visits, and presentations to prospective customers.

o Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to deal closing, ensuring customer satisfaction and timely follow-ups.

       Product Knowledge & Technical Sales:

o Develop a comprehensive understanding of water pressure, level, temperature, flow, and quality control systems.

o Provide technical support and solutions to meet customer requirements.

o Deliver product demonstrations and communicate technical aspects of

products.

       Territory Management:

o Plan and execute sales strategies for assigned geographic territories.

o Monitor competitive trends, customer needs

       Close Leads:

o Maintain a proactive approach to closing deals efficiently. Always Be Closing by ensuring follow-up on all leads and sales activities.

       Maintain & Develop Product Knowledge:

o Regularly participate in training and maintain up-to-date knowledge of product offerings and solutions to provide accurate information and solutions to customers.

       Maintain Customer Relationships & Network:

o Continue building and maintaining relationships with key contractors, service providers, and customers in the commercial building market, ensuring is positioned as their preferred solution provider.

       Lead Generation:

o Utilize sales tools and CRM platforms to generate new business opportunities through cold calls, site visits, and networking.

       Proposal Development:

o Prepare and deliver sales proposals and presentations tailored to customer needs, demonstrating how products and services meet those needs.

       Contract Negotiations:

o Engage with decision-makers to finalize agreements and ensure contract terms align with business goals while delivering value to the customer.

       Post-Sales Support:

o Provide after-sales support and ensure that customer satisfaction is maintained. Work closely with the operations and service teams to ensure seamless delivery, installation, and service.

 

Metrics/KPIs:

       Market Development Activities (MDAs):

o KPI: Number of new opportunities created through proactive market engagement (calls, meetings, presentations, etc.).

       Buyer/Close Ratio:

o KPI: Percentage of deals closed from identified leads or buyer meetings.

       Gross Profit to Goal:

o KPI: Total gross profit generated from sales versus target.

       Revenue Growth in Existing Accounts:

o KPI: Percentage increase in revenue from existing customers year-over-year.

       New Business Development:

o KPI: Number of new customers onboarded per month/quarter.

       Follow-Up and Customer Retention:

o KPI: Time taken to follow up on leads, quotes, and customer inquiries.

       CRM Data Accuracy & Utilization:

o KPI: Ensure timely and accurate input of customer information, sales activities, and opportunities in the CRM (NetSuite).

       Customer Satisfaction:

o KPI: Measure customer satisfaction through feedback, surveys, or NPS (Net

Promoter Score).

       Solution Meetings & Presentations:

o KPI: Number of solution-focused meetings or presentations with decision- makers (buyers, contractors, etc.).

Required Qualifications:

       Experience:

o 3-5 years of outside sales experience, preferably in technical sales or the commercial building industry.

o Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.

       Skills & Competencies:

o Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.

o Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

o Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers.

o Highly organized with effective time management and multi-tasking abilities.

o Self-motivated and able to work independently to achieve goals.

o Analytical skills to provide problem-solving solutions for customers.

o Proficient in using CRM systems (NetSuite preferred), Microsoft Office, and other sales tools.

       Technical Knowledge:

o Ability to develop a strong technical understanding of water control systems, plumbing systems, and other relevant products.

o Capable of providing technical product demonstrations and customer support as needed.

       Education:

o Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.

       Other Requirements:

o Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

o Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned territory.

o Ability to work collaboratively as part of a sales team and contribute to overall

team success.
