Job Description

Social Media & Content Manager

(REMOTE/ATL/NOLA)

Alloy is an integrated marketing agency. We specialize in helping brands across the full funnel, from designing and developing digital solutions and brands that inspire, to creating complete communication offerings and performance marketing campaigns. Our cross-channel solutions help innovative brands engage with their buyers, shape public opinion, build lasting influence, create new categories, and accelerate growth and market share.

Behind it all is a group of nerds, rebels and creatives. We've been called a Best Place to Work (10 times and counting, to be exact). And we're growing this uncommon crew.

About the Role

We are looking for a strategic, ambitious Social Media & Content Manager to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who can translate complex technical jargon into compelling narratives that drive engagement and authority.

They'll be the bridge between technical innovation and human connection. One day they'll distill a 20-page whitepaper into a LinkedIn carousel; the next, they'll interview a Product Engineer to write a deep-dive blog post on the future of SaaS architecture.

As a key member of Alloy's PR team, this individual will support clients' overarching brand awareness and market validation programs by developing social media & long-form content that resonates with key stakeholders. They'll learn to deeply understand their client's businesses, key messages, and solutions, and transform them into stories that connect with, educate, and excite target audiences. They're curious and passionate about social media trends, and they know when to recommend executive social strategy over brand social strategy.

The Social Media & Content Manager will work closely with fellow team members on account-specific strategy, tasks and deliverables by providing strategic guidance, critical thinking and thoughtful review, ensuring materials are strategic and representative of Alloy's high-caliber work.

The Details of the Social Media & Content Manager
  • Gains a deep understanding of a client's brand, business, and industry, and can act as a client and/or industry subject matter expert.
  • Develops and manages client social media & content plans and ensures they are aligned to client's overall objectives regularly.
  • Writes short-form (e.g., social media captions, community responses) and long-form (e.g., blogs, Q&A articles, bylines, internal comms materials) that are tied to the client's social media & content strategy/plan and supports the client's PR strategy.
  • Designs engaging, captivating social media assets (e.g., graphics, carousels, short-form video).
  • Weaves keywords, client key messaging, and modern structure into short-form and long-form content to help with SEO and AI rankings.
  • Manages internal and external review processes of content.
  • Serves as a trusted social media & content advisor to the client contact and can speak to best practices, including employee engagement, influencer marketing, amplification strategies, how social media & content impact AI visibility and SEO, etc.
  • Reports on social media & content performance and adjusts content strategy based on insights.
  • Researches marketing, social media & content trends to understand what resonates with target audiences and fits within client goals, objectives, and personas.
  • Reports to the Organic Social Associate Director and works closely with the PR team (e.g., PR, content, and social media roles) to develop strategic, engaging content that produces results for clients.
Skills & Experience Needed:
  • You possess a minimum of 3-5 years of post-graduate experience working in a social media or content creation role, whether agency or client/brand side, preferably working with technology, SaaS, or B2B brands.
  • You have experience working with PR, social, and content team members to build, execute and report on results of a PR or content strategy/plan with minimal oversight from senior management.
  • You have excellent research, comprehension, and writing skills for both short-form and long-form content, and you can adjust your writing style to match the voice of your subject.
  • You can hold your own on client calls, whether you're helping run status calls, presenting strategy, or reporting on performance.
  • You are familiar with social media management software such as Sprout Social, Meltwater, or Hootsuite (or similar software).
  • You are familiar with design software such as Canva, Figma, or the Adobe suite.
  • You are familiar with analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, those within social media management software platforms, and social media channels' native analytics features.
  • You have an understanding of how market trends, digital trends, a client environment's, audience preferences, and goals & objectives influence and inform a social media and content calendar.
  • You're a responsible, self-managed individual who can independently manage their own deadlines (but still collaborate with your team!).
  • You're authentic, bold, passionately curious, accountable, radically candid and agile.
The Benefits

  • Performance bonuses and promotions
