A growing commercial construction firm in the Carrollton area with a strong project pipeline and expanding operations. The company is at an inflection point where leadership is investing in building out its financial infrastructure to support the next stage of growth. This is a newly created position — the company's first dedicated Controller hire. Role Overview Reporting directly to leadership, you will build the accounting and finance function from the ground up. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role where you'll establish the systems, processes, and reporting that the company needs to scale. Key Responsibilities Own the full accounting function including month-end close, financial reporting, AP/AR, job costing, and general ledger management Establish and implement accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting standards Manage job costing, WIP schedules, and project-level profitability analysis Build cash flow forecasting models, budgets, and financial projections Oversee banking relationships, bonding requirements, and covenant compliance Coordinate with external CPA for tax preparation, audits, and compliance Develop KPIs and financial dashboards to give ownership real-time visibility into company performance Manage draw schedules, billing, and subcontractor payments Evaluate and implement accounting software/ERP systems as the company grows Partner with ownership on strategic decisions, resource allocation, and business planning Qualifications 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 2 years in a Controller or senior accounting role Construction industry experience strongly preferred — familiarity with job costing, WIP, percentage-of-completion Experience building or significantly improving accounting processes and systems Proficiency with construction accounting software (SAGE, Procore, Viewpoint, QuickBooks, or similar) Hands-on mentality Strong communication skills with the ability to translate financial data for non-finance leadership Self-starter comfortable working independently with limited existing infrastructure #J-18808-Ljbffr Green Lion Search Group
