Knoxville Dermatology Group Medical AssistantAnne Arundel Dermatology is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our outpatient dermatology clinic in Knoxville, TN, Knoxville Dermatology Group. The Medical Assistant will support providers with patient care, clinical procedures, and daily office operations in a fast-paced environment.ResponsibilitiesRoom patients, verify patient information, and obtain vital signsAssist providers during exams and proceduresPrepare procedure trays, instruments, and equipmentAdminister injections and assist with patient treatmentsCollect and process lab/pathology specimensEducate patients on treatment plans and wound careMaintain inventory, supplies, and equipment sterilizationDocument patient care accurately in the EMREnsure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control standardsSupport clinic workflow and complete other duties as assignedQualificationsExperience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical settingAbility to obtain vital signs and administer injectionsKnowledge of medical terminology, CPT/ICD-10 coding, and EMR systemsUnderstanding of HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control protocolsStrong communication, organizational, and multitasking skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentWillingness to travel to satellite offices as neededLicensure/Certifications/EducationHigh School Graduate or GED required.Completion of a Medical Assistant Program, Certified Nursing Assistant program or completion of a bachelor's degree program in the pre-med or pre-physician assistant track preferred.CPR certified preferred.1-2 years of recent experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, or other clinical patient care experience preferred.Previous experience in Dermatology is preferred.Physical Requirements:Standing and walking for extended periods of timeModerate amount of talking, bending, twisting, reaching, and balancing.Use of hands and fingers.Talking and listening in person and on the telephone.Handling of materials such as paper, supplies, etc.Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.Risk of exposure to infectious organisms and the possibility of injury due to chemicals and sharp objects.Full time employees (defined as regularly working at least 30 hours per week) are eligible for the following benefits:Medical, Dental & Vision insurance – effective 1st of the month after date of startShort-term and long-term disability, Voluntary life (employee, spouse, and child), Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity – Effective the 1st of the month following date of hireCompany provided Basic Life/AD&D insurancePaid time offPaid holidaysRetirement Savings accountEmployee discount on cosmetic services and products
