Job Description

Please note this is a General Manager for the MId West. Must be willing to relocate out of Chicago.

Seeking a Fine Dining General Manager who is a seasoned hospitality professional with a unique blend of strategic vision, passionate about delivering hospitality to guests and staff alike. We will consider candidates with extensive experience leading high-performing management teams, who excel in preparation and delegation, consistently channel their energy into surpassing expectations and delighting guests at every touchpoint.

The successful GM is d edicated to leadership and staff development. The General Manager will work closely with the team, fostering an environment of growth by providing the structure, support, and resources needed to achieve excellence. They champion the company’s culture and mission, create the ideal conditions for heartfelt hospitality, and deliver world-class service.

Core Responsibilities:

Leadership & Culture

  • Create and drive a healthy, professional, and productive work culture and environment.
  • Develop and coach staff at all levels to meet standards of excellence and participate in a values-based "culture of care."
  • Set the tone for the team to provide transformational hospitality and world-class service consistently.
  • Lead strategic planning and support the launching of all property programming and events, thinking critically about every guest touchpoint.
  • Work collaboratively with partners to meet business objectives and support cross-functional initiatives.

Service & Systems

  • Establish systems and processes to ensure expectations are clear and consistently met.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine the Steps of Service for diverse dining environments and major events.
  • Responsible for ensuring all service needs are met and that the property is equipped and prepared for daily operations.
  • Turn service insights into action to improve guest satisfaction and financial outcomes simultaneously.

Guest Experience

  • Engineer opportunities to demonstrate care at each touchpoint, from the initial arrival experience to post-visit follow-ups.
  • Optimize reservation management and front-door communication to ensure a seamless guest journey the moment they arrive on property.
  • Manage the restaurant's operating tools and develop new ways to make every experience unique and teaching the team how to execute those moments.

Floor Presence

  • Demonstrate intentional floor presence and genuine hospitality unconditionally, guiding the team during peak service hours.
  • Maintain strong communication and collaboration with the BOH leadership.
  • Create a visible impact by knowing when and where your presence will most benefit the team and the guest experience.

Talent Development

  • Lead the employee lifecycle—recruiting top talent, overseeing high-level onboarding, and managing retention and advancement.
  • Oversee the development and upkeep of training materials for all service departments.
  • Ensure training is never compromised for convenience, maintaining consistency in service standards.

Financial Performance

  • Drive financial performance across all revenue centers by increasing market share, guest satisfaction, and salesmanship.

Requirements

  • At least 4+ years of experience as a General Manager or Director within a high-volume, fine-dining, or luxury hospitality environment.
  • Proven track record in managing, training, and developing leadership teams.
  • A passion for anticipating guest needs and creating moments of "surprise and delight."
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strategic mindset with a commitment to long-term sustainability and growth.
  • Experience handling HR and basic accounting business needs.
  • Physical ability to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of hours to accommodate service and special events.
