Property Accountant - Commercial Real Estate

I'm partnering with a growing, vertically integrated real estate investment and operating firm here in Houston that's looking to add a Property Accountant to their team. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative, high-performing group that takes a data-driven approach to managing and scaling a commercial real estate portfolio.

This role will be heavily involved in full-cycle property accounting and offers strong exposure to both operational accounting and financial analysis tied directly to real estate assets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of commercial properties
• Prepare and deliver monthly financial reporting packages , including variance analysis
• Maintain and review general ledgers at the property level
• Perform bank and account reconciliations
• Coordinate and record property-level accruals in partnership with PM/AM teams
• Review and post tenant billings and bill backs
• Process and review accounts payable activity
• Track capital expenditures and support budgeting initiatives
• Assist with CAM reconciliations and operating expense analysis
• Prepare financial data for property-level tax reporting
• Calculate and communicate management fees to corporate accounting
• Support lender reporting and other ownership reporting requirements

What they're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of commercial real estate accounting experience
• Strong understanding of accrual-based accounting

Pay Details: $85,000.00 to $95,000.00 per year
