Description:

The Production Supervisor – Assembly is responsible for leading the daily manufacturing operations of the Assembly Department in alignment with XLT’s Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Safety (QCDS) standards.

This leader directs Team Leaders and Team Members to ensure production schedules are met, quality standards are upheld, and continuous improvement principles are practiced. The Production Supervisor drives culture, accountability, lean execution, and workforce development while maintaining alignment with XLT’s Quality Management System.

This role serves as backup to the Production Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Abide by the company’s Quality Management System
  • Prioritize customer satisfaction and maintain compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Protect the company’s assets, reputation, goodwill, and marketplace stature at all costs

Essential Functions:

This position will perform the below listed duties consistently, accurately, timely, safely, and at the lowest feasible cost:

  • Direct and oversee daily assembly operations
  • Balance manpower to workload
  • Approve work hours and payroll adjustments
  • Review Vacation Calendar weekly to ensure adequate staffing
  • Conduct daily production meetings
  • Maintain and enforce the Quality Management System
  • Promote and model the Quality Creed
  • Keep senior leadership informed of critical issues
  • Identify and eliminate waste (manpower, materials, time, cost)
  • Simplify job methods and improve workflow
  • Improve work cell layouts
  • Maintain and improve training matrix
  • Inspire suggestions and team-driven improvement
  • Direct Team Leaders effectively
  • Promote safe methods and hazard elimination
  • Conduct on-the-job training
  • Build morale and teamwork
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the President.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, and use hands for up to 10 hours per day
  • Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as needed
