Job Description


The Mathematics Department at Syracuse University seeks to fill one Postdoctoral Scholar position, to begin between July 1, 2026 and August 16, 2026. This is a one-year position that may be subject to renewal. For more information see

Qualifications

  • Recent Ph.D. in an area of pure or applied mathematics or statistics, and strong potential in both research and teaching.
Job Specific Qualifications
  • Preference will be given to candidates whose research interests overlap and/or complement those of the existing faculty.

The responsibilities include:
  • Conducting research
  • Contributing to the intellectual life of the department
  • Teaching; teaching load is 9 credits (3 courses) per academic year.
