Opportunity Information:

Sutter Lakeside is seeking a compassionate, patient focused APC Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physicain Assistant (PA) to join our outpatient Oncology/Hematology team. This role is ideal for an NP who values collaboration, patient education, and providing supportive care throughout the cancer journey.

\n

\n As part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you will support patients from their initial visit through treatment planning and ongoing follow up.

\n

\n

Core Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Perform comprehensive new patient evaluations, including histories, physicals, and review of imaging/labs
\n
• Manage scheduled follow up care, monitoring treatment response, adverse effects, and overall health status
\n
• Assist in developing, adjusting, and implementing individualized treatment plans
\n
• Help prepare and coordinate infusion plans and documentation within the EMR/Beacon system
\n
• Provide guidance and education on medications, side effect management, and supportive care resources
\n
• Communicate with infusion nursing, pharmacy, care coordinators, and oncology support services to ensure seamless care
\n

Qualifications:\n

EDUCATION:
\n Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
\n Master's: Nursing

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
\n NP-California Nurse Practitioner by California Department of Consumer Affairs \n

NP-F - Nurse Practitioner Furnishing

\n

RN-California Registered Nurse

\n

CSRC-Controlled Substance Registered Certification (required if prescribing narcotics)
\n BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
\n Certification required based on the department requirements

\n

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
\n 5 years of recent relevant experience.

\n

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
\n Demonstrated general knowledge and competence with regard to advanced nursing theories, concepts and practices; medical terminology; anatomy; and physiology.

\n Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, best practices regarding patient care and privacy, and changes in local/state/federal regulations.

\n Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.

\n Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook), Electronic Health Record.

\n Prioritize and delegate assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.

\n Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.

\n Identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.

\n Ensure the privacy of each patient s protected health information (PHI).
