We are interested in building a diverse group of community faculty with experience in substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders who are passionate about educating future counselors in the online and hybrid Master of Professional Studies in Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) and Addictions Counseling programs (ADDC). The IBH and ADDC programs have a need for additional instructional staff to offer coursework in topics that include foundations of substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders, applied psychopharmacology, assessment and treatment planning, counseling skills, research methods in counseling, among others.
The College of Continuing and Professional Studies offers applied graduate degrees designed to meet workforce needs, such as the IBH and ADDC program which are designed to fulfill the training and education requirements for licensure. The ADDC program provides academic preparation for licensure as a Minnesota Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor License (LADC) and the IBH program prepares students for dual licensure as an LADC and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). In addition, community faculty may teach for our related certificate and graduate Minor. Teaching Specialists report to the Director of Graduate Programs in CCAPS, and typically teach one to two semester-length courses during the academic year. Courses may be offered in online, hybrid, or face-to-face formats.
