We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Pharmacist to support pharmaceutical care and medication management in a hospital setting. This opportunity is ideal for pharmacists with strong clinical judgment, sterile compounding expertise, and experience in acute care pharmacy operations.

Job Title: Staff Pharmacist

Location: Houston, Texas, 77030

Shift: Night Shift – 7 Nights On / 7 Nights Off (7:30 PM – 7:30 AM)

Pay: $65-75/hr

Contract Duration: 14 Weeks

Start Date: 06/15/2026

Role Overview:

The Staff Pharmacist will be responsible for ensuring safe and effective medication therapy management while supporting hospital pharmacy operations. This role includes medication order verification, sterile compounding, infection control adherence, and collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify medication orders for appropriateness based on diagnosis, allergies, body weight/surface area, and drug interactions
  • Accurately enter medication orders into the pharmacy system
  • Ensure accurate medication dispensing and timely delivery
  • Prepare sterile products using aseptic technique and infection control standards
  • Monitor medication therapy and identify potential drug-related issues
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to support pharmaceutical care
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, pharmacy regulations, and medication safety standards
  • Participate in quality assurance and medication safety initiatives
  • Support workflow efficiency and sterile compounding compliance requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD required
  • Active Texas Pharmacist License (RPH) required
  • Valid unrestricted license to perform clinical pharmacy activities
  • Minimum 2+ years of hospital staff pharmacist experience preferred
  • Sterile compounding and medication preparation experience preferred
  • Completion of 20 hours of ACPE or ASHP accredited sterile compounding training preferred
  • Strong understanding of medication safety, drug interactions, and pharmaceutical care
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment
