Jacob Olsgaard Farm is a growing family farming operation located in Moorhead, Minnesota, dedicated to producing high-quality organic and conventional grain crops. Farming approximately 900 acres, including 650 acres of certified organic production and 250 acres of conventional crops, the operation maintains a balanced rotation of soybeans and hard red spring wheat while emphasizing efficiency, sustainability, and continuous improvement. Position Overview Jacob Olsgaard Farm is seeking a motivated Farm Manager to help oversee the day-to-day operations of our grain farming business. Working directly alongside the owner, you'll play a key leadership role in crop production, equipment management, employee supervision, and operational planning. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both hands-on field work and management responsibilities while helping shape the future of a growing farm. Compensation & Benefits $5,000 - $6,200 per month, depending on experience Opportunity to grow with a progressive farming operation Work directly with the owner and contribute to key business decisions Supportive, team-oriented work environment where your input is valued Responsibilities Assist the Farm Owner with planning and coordinating daily farming operations. Lead and supervise farm employees while promoting safe and efficient work practices. Operate a variety of agricultural equipment, including tractors, forklifts, irrigation systems, and other farm machinery. Perform preventative maintenance, mechanical repairs, welding, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime. Help manage all phases of crop production, including planting, crop monitoring, pest and weed management, and harvest. Monitor equipment performance and maintain organized maintenance records. Improve shop, equipment, and facility organization for maximum operational efficiency. Maintain compliance with farm safety procedures and best management practices. Work a flexible schedule, including extended hours during planting and harvest seasons. Qualifications 1+ years of leadership or farm management experience. Agricultural experience preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude with experience repairing and maintaining farm equipment. Welding experience is highly desirable. Experience operating tractors, forklifts, irrigation equipment, power tools, and other agricultural machinery. Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and solve problems independently. Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills. Ability to work independently while also collaborating as part of a team. Basic math and recordkeeping skills. Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
