Farm Manager – Brooklyn, NY (Job #6290) The Campaign Against Hunger (TCAH), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1998, is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and hard‑working Farm Manager to supervise and maintain daily operations of our gardens and farms, including a ¼-acre vegetable production farm on Fulton Street in Central Brooklyn and a ½-acre farm in Far Rockaway, Queens. About the Position The Farm Manager will coordinate production, volunteer training, market stand operations, and outreach activities. The role requires working outdoors in all weather conditions and may involve lifting up to 40 pounds. Qualifications Commitment to and experience with sustainable agriculture (no pesticides) Self‑motivated, excellent communicator; able to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to work outdoors in all weather Ability to lift up to 40 pounds Eager to learn and solve problems independently and in a team setting Experience working with volunteer groups Familiarity with Google Drive (Sheets, Docs, Calendar) Attention to detail and organization Experience working with diverse groups across ages, abilities, races, genders, sexual orientations, religions, ethnicities, and national origins Valid driver’s license (ideal but not required) Bilingual in English and Spanish Knowledge of aquaponics operation Strong commitment to food justice values Mentorship and instruction experience with youth ages 15‑24 in daily farm operations Experience in planning, seeding, and planting Understanding of drip irrigation and overhead watering Harvesting and processing crops for sales Setting up, running, and breaking down the weekly market stand Pest, weed, and disease management knowledge Experience overseeing production for markets, restaurants, programs, and donations Ability to submit detailed weight and sales records regularly Developing strategies for productivity, efficiency, and engagement with the farm Lead workshops, volunteer groups, tours, and social media outreach Mulching, trellising, pruning, and tilling Benefits Hourly pay and benefits can be discussed. #J-18808-Ljbffr
