Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our team at Dalhart High School. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop a love for literature and language while fostering critical thinking and effective communication skills. This full-time position requires a commitment to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment that promotes academic excellence and personal growth. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum requirements. Teach a variety of English subjects, including literature, composition, grammar, and creative writing, to diverse student populations. Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and projects, providing timely feedback and support for improvement. Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect for diverse perspectives. Utilize technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance learning experiences. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress, challenges, and achievements. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events to contribute to the school community. Foster a love for reading and writing by promoting literature and organizing related extracurricular activities, such as book clubs or writing contests. Support students in developing their critical thinking and analytical skills through discussions and written assignments. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance data. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field Valid teaching certification or license in English for secondary education. Proven experience teaching English at the high school level is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of English language arts curriculum and best teaching practices. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to inspire and motivate students with diverse learning styles and needs. Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance instruction. Commitment to continuous professional growth and development.
