Manager of Data Governance opportunity open in the Greenville, SC area for a degreed data professional with 3+ years of leadership experience . In this on-site role, you will lead enterprise data governance initiatives including data quality, metadata management, data lineage, and compliance frameworks across cloud platforms. Must be a hands-on technical leader equally comfortable coding ( SQL and Python ) as they are influencing stakeholders and championing a data-driven culture.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or data engineering
• 3+ years in a leadership or management role, including people management
• Strong hands-on proficiency in SQL and Python — non-negotiable
• Solid understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data lineage
• Experience with data catalog tools (Atlan, Collibra, Alation, or similar)
• Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities:

• Lead the implementation of data governance strategies, policies, and frameworks across an enterprise environment
• Manage and develop a team of 4-8 employees
• Strong people leadership skills with a passion for developing junior talent
• Define and enforce data classification, access controls, metadata management, and data lineage standards
• Design and implement data quality management processes, profiling, and cleansing strategies
• Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and business stakeholders to drive governance adoption
• Oversee documentation of data assets, metadata, and lineage using modern data catalog tooling
