Job Description
Position Overview We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) with a background in Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) to support a large healthcare system. This role focuses on improving the accuracy and completeness of clinical documentation to ensure appropriate reimbursement and quality of patient care outcomes.
Key Responsibilities - Review inpatient medical records to ensure accurate and complete clinical documentation
- Evaluate and validate DRG assignments for accuracy and compliance
- Identify documentation gaps and initiate appropriate provider queries
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to improve documentation quality
- Ensure alignment with regulatory guidelines and organizational standards
- Work independently in a fully remote environment while meeting productivity and quality benchmarks
Required Qualifications - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Proven experience in Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI)
- Recent inpatient CDI experience in an acute care setting
Preferred Qualifications - 2-5 years of CDI experience
- Experience with CDE-1 system
- Familiarity with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system
Key Details - Location: Remote
- Schedule: Monday-Friday (8:00am-5:00pm) some flexibility may be available
- Pay: $40-45 per hour (based on experience)
- Employment Type: 6-month contract (potential for hire)
