The right candidate implements and ensures compliance regarding the company’s environmental programs and policies, adhering to the company’s environmental standards. Verify the company is complying with federal, state and local regulations and policies.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Implement and enforce company environmental policies and practices. Monitor to suggest updates when requiredInterpret federal, state, and local environmental rules and regulations to establish the company’s environmental policies and procedures are in compliance and address potential issuesVerify the company complies with all federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulationsAddress environmental concerns relating to business operations Identify and research solutions for a course of action to abate or minimize environmental liabilitiesResearch and prepare documentation for negotiation regarding corrective actions with federal, state, and local agencies on behalf of the companyMonitor and analyze environmental data, prepare report findings for reviewIdentify, assess, and lessen environmental risks associated with the company’s business operationsAct in accordance to follow budget guidelines for environmental projects and policiesRaise awareness throughout the company of current environmental issuesMaintain current knowledge in environmental issues and endangered speciesCoordinate or attend public hearings, conferences and events on environmental issuesConducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the companyAbility to travel overnightQualificationsEducation and/or ExperienceBachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Environmental Management, Environmental Policy, Environmental Engineering or a similar fieldFour to seven years of related experience and/or trainingWell-versed in current environmental issues, policies, regulations and best practicesAbility to develop strategies, implement programs, and manage projects and peopleStrong verbal and written communication skills to effectively report on performance, educate staff, and collaborate with stakeholdersProficiency in data analysis, research, and report preparationAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applicationsProficiency with MS Office and emailAbility to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
