Active Adults Assistant Coordinator , you'll help deliver engaging programs like the
Greater Greensboro Senior Games , hiking clubs, fitness classes, and special events that foster community, resilience, and well-being. Your work directly supports the City's vision of creating

About the Role The
Active Adults Assistant Coordinator supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of citywide programs for active adults. This role blends program support, facility oversight, customer service, and administrative coordination to ensure high-quality experiences across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities - Assist in coordinating citywide programs including:
- Greater Greensboro Senior Games
- 50+ Hiking Club
- Exercise and wellness classes across six recreation centers
- Special events and programming at Smith and Trotter Active Adult Centers
- Serve as a liaison between staff, participants, and community partners to support inclusive and engaging programming.
- Oversee daily maintenance and operations of the indoor therapeutic pool at Smith Active Adult Center, including lifeguard scheduling.
- Coordinate maintenance and repair of fitness equipment at both active adult centers.
- Support internal and external users of the RecTrac registration system .
- Assist with marketing, outreach, record keeping, and data entry.
- Provide excellent customer service and foster a welcoming, inclusive environment for all participants.
- Assist with program setup, breakdown, and facility support, including moving tables and chairs.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Management, Exercise & Sport Science , or a related field.
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or ability to obtain within three (3) months of hire.
- CPR/AED/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within three (3) months of hire.
- Valid Driver's License .
- Experience using Microsoft Office .
- Ability to walk up to four (4) miles during weekly hikes.
Preferred Qualifications - Certified Lifeguard certification.
- Experience supporting or coordinating Senior Games or similar events.
- Experience using recreation management software such as RecTrac .
- Experience maintaining or working with fitness equipment.
- Knowledge of program planning, evaluation, and active adult programming trends.
